South Pacific Zone

LIMITS
To the north with the Brunqueño System and the Cordillera de Talamanca, to the south and west with the Pacific Ocean, and to the east Cordillera de Talamanca and border with Panama.

RELIEF
The relief is constituted by the Cordillera de Talamanca: it has many knots and foothills, several peaks of more than 3000 meters. high, where the highest Chirripó with ‘3820 mts. El General Coto Brus Valley: It is located between the Talamanca mountain range and the Brunqueño system; the Coastal or Brunqueño System where limestone rocks abound. ECONOMIC ACTIVITIES
The most important is the agriculture of basic grains, sugar cane, pipia and papaya for export, African palm, cocoa, coffee, and tobacco. Beef cattle in the plains and dairy in the highlands. The oil industry in Golfito, in addition to being the most important free trade zone in the country. San Isidro is the center of the region, where all services can be found.

WEATHER
It is determined by the height, in the lowlands, the climate is hot humid, but it goes from temperate to cold. This is one of the rainiest areas in the country, with 4000 mm per year.
