Guanacaste

Guanacaste is the most popular and the largest tourist destination in Costa Rica. With summer conditions all year round, it offers almost everything.

Here you will find large extensions of flat land dedicated to cattle grazing. That’s why it’s full of Costa Rican cowboys called Sabaneros. This is the land of folklore and music. It’s also the perfect place to sample typical dishes, such as casados, tortillas, ceviche (raw lemon-marinated fish cocktail) or magnificent lobsters and seafood.

Miles and miles of deserted beaches are perfect for swimming, sunbathing or simply enjoying the most amazing sunsets.

You can play golf in 5-star hotels such as the Meliá Conchal or the Four Seasons, or head to a small lodge in Tamarindo beach and go surfing.

Sportfishing is a great option for those who prefer to have a good time on the surface of the ocean. The most common fish species are: marlin, sword, tuna, dorado, wahoo and rooster.

Taking a boat ride or sailing along the coast are unforgettable experiences.
