Transportation to Playa Minas, Guanacaste

The pinnacle of secluded beaches in the northwest of Costa Rica is Playa Minas. Known by locals who come here to fish, it is rarely visited by tourists and is therefore often called one of the country’s best kept secrets, because here you’ll find bright aquamarine water, nearly-white sand, and a parade of nesting leatherback turtles, who show up every year between November and April to lay hundreds of eggs.

Playa Minas Quiet And Rarely Visited Beach

Minas is part of Las Baulas Marine National Park, and is protected from development so the endangered leatherbacks will continue to return here annually to nest.

People aboard sunset cruises and catamaran tours will often get to enjoy Playa Minas if the boat anchors just offshore, to do some snorkeling around the rocks or just relax on the clean sandy beach for a while.
