In the foreground of Magnolia House sits the inviting infinity pool. The adjoining bar and terraces provide the perfect place to meet other guests and share tales of the day’s adventures or simply relax with a book. library.
With regards to dining, Magnolia House offers an exquisite combination of International and Costa Rican cuisine using local fresh fruits and vegetables. Since it is a small establishment, they are able to design their daily set menus with the freshest ingredients. Before you arrive, inform about food allergies and general tastes in food, so that the menus will meet all of your expectations!
Rio Magnolia is a rainforest eco-lodge situated above the southern Pacific surf town of Dominical on a 280-acre property with great ocean, jungle, and valley views. it is located between Manuel Antonio Park and the Osa Peninsula. We are home to many species of birds, mammals, butterflies, insects, and other interesting critters!
This Costa Rica eco-tourism project is located near the small rural towns of La Alfombra and San Cristobal where the employees live. Their commitment to sustainability and protecting the environment is reflected in a number of initiatives. Out of the 110 hectares (280 acres) property, 90 hectares are primary and secondary rainforest, which they protect. The balance is pasture, where they have some cows and horses.
FACILITIES
All rooms offer soft white linens and cozy duvets to snuggle under at night. Rio Magnolia is at an elevation of 800 meters and the temperature drops at night allowing the fresh evening air to drift into your room through the screened windows. There is not a/c to minimize the impact on the ecosystem and do not require it. Each room has a ceiling fan for air circulation. Shampoo and liquid soap are presented in refillable bottles.
El Cielo:
This very private suite is attached to Magnolia House jutting out over the valley. El Cielo offers panoramic ocean and jungle views with a private wrap-around terrace. The suite has a queen size bedroom with a sitting area, a large en-suite bath, and a shower that offers fantastic views. This room is also wheelchair accessible.
La Heliconia:
La Heliconia is on the second level of Magnolia House with a big ocean, pool, and jungle views. The room has a queen size bed with a large outside sitting area, large en- suite bath, and a shower that offers breathtaking views.
La Orquidea:
La Orquidea is also located on the second level of Magnolia House and has river and jungle views and an ocean view from the terrace. The suite offers a queen-size bed and a large outside sitting area. La Orquidea also includes a large en-suite bath with a shower that offers a fantastic view.
Mono Congo:
Mono Congo is constructed completely from local wood and is perched on the edge of the jungle just uphill from the main lodge. Enjoy the surroundings from beautiful handmade windows. Mono Congo offers a queen-size bed with a sitting area and an en-suite bathroom with a shower that is open to the jungles’ sights and sounds. A covered wooden deck overlooks the jungle, the rolling valleys, and the ocean.
